2048X1536 (264 pixels per inch) 10" Screen

Post by Bishop51 »

Looks like Apples Ipad 3 has the right visual chops to create a very high resolution, wide FOV display. http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/11/ ... ll-be-low/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . With a res of 2048×1536 @ 264 pixels per inch on a 10" screen, given how light they are, I would think this would make for a really immersive foundation to base a LEAP style optical system off of at an affordable price.

Just a heads up for the Palmer guru's out there :)

Just as interesting in that article is the mention of a 7.85" iPad. It seems like that would be better suited for HMD.

Isn't 10" too big for an HMD. I mean, I get tired just *holding* an iPad in my hands. Can't imagine strapping one of those to my head would be comfortable.
