Set up advice

Post by beef1977 »

Hi all

Just ordered a new BenQ XL2720Z 27" TRUE 144Hz 3D Vision 2.0 Widescreen LED Monitor and just wanted to check if it is compatible for 3d with my AMD card, i have a feeling its not and i will need to upgrade my graphics card to NVidia.

I didn't buy it for the 3d application but its a nice bonus to have.

My spec are as follows;

CPU - Intel Core i7 2600k
MOBO - ASUS P8Z77-V LX
Graphics - Radeon HD 7850 2 gb MSI Twin Frozer
Cooler - Arctic Cooling Freezer 13
Ram - 16Gb DDR 3 1866 mhz Corsair Vengance
Case - Zalman Z11
Hdd 1 - 128 GB Samsung 830 SSD SATA III
Hdd 2 - 250 GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD SATA III
HDD 2 - 1 TB Seagate SATA III

Any help gratefully received.

I think you'll need an Nvidia card, but now is a great time to upgrade.

The GTX 970 is fairly affordable and seems to overclock to 980 levels.

Yep, already on it, seems amazon.co.uk is a bit slow with the release of these cards, i have £150 of vouchers from work so will have to wait!
