I am using 162.50 driver pair for my 7900GS and shutter glasses, and having serious stuttering problem with Tomb Raider: Underworld, 1st level.

According to Eidos faq this is fixed with the newest driver. I'm looking only for the newest working driver or driver pairs hoping to fix this issue. So the questions for your collective wisdom on the forum follow, please help point me to the right direction:

- Which is the newest working driver for XP that works with stereo driver 162.50 ? and where can I get it?
- Is there a newer stereo driver than 162.50? (do I need to have it ?)
- Once installed the newer driver do I need to reinstall the stereo driver 162.50 which is already installed?
- Do the registry file need to be updated with any entry ? What are they ?

1. 177.89 ,178.15 works with 162.50
2. 162.50 is the newest driver. later version are for zalmann monitor and anaglyph.
3. when i change the driver i always deinstall the stereo driver but dont if this is nesessary.
i also use the driversweeper.

Fantastic. I'll try 177.89 + 162.50 and will report back on the result.

I've installed 178.15 + 162.50 pair + registry changes. The stuttering is much less but now there is graphical artifacts ie. beams or rays with thin surface emanate from Lara's body like she is beeng puppeteered in a weird way. This phenom also happened in 162.5 + 162.5 pairs but needed only "an exit to menu + return to game" to fix it, not so with 178.15.

I heard people talking about nHancer but never tried. May be I should. Again thanks for the tip on using 178.15.

EDIT: Without doing anything but quiting out of the game last night, and this morning starting the game and the number of puppeteering strings have reduced signigicantly from 5,6 now only 1 but occasionally, and the game seems more fluid where it should stutter before.

EDIT2: 178.15 turned out to be too glitchy so I tried 178.24, this driver is getting even worse, so now I'm back at 162.5 forceware + 162.5 stereo.

173.68 also works with 162.50 stereo. It´s worth a try.

Hmm, I saw this post. I've been using 163.71 FW (32 bit) and 162.50 stereo drivers on my 7950GT. It's been working well with D3, Q4 and others, with just an occasional flicker glitch every now and then. The flicker isn't too bad or too frequent, so I've lived with it.

Reading the above, I decided to give 173.68FW + 162.50Stereo a try. But it was much, much worse, constant random flickering on blocks and objects onscreen. Unbearable.

I'm going back to 163.71 for now. Has anyone had success with any drivers inbetween 163.71 and 173.68?

Hi, I had installed the 162.50 Drivers Both and I ran the Reg Twweak and Got the Stereo Control Panel back. Now today I tried to access the Control Panel and it went back to the Web based one??

How can I get the Old 3D Control Panel back?? I checked the Registry that was the same as I had changed what caused this Help!!

3d Still works in my games I just cant get to the 3D Control Panel?? I wanted to run the Test Image??

Have you changed your monitor prior to this strange issue ?
An option is to reinstall the driver pair.
Good luck and if possible please report back and keep us updated with your progress. It's a good data point for Nvidia driver issues.

No, same Proj. and it was working ?? I will try reinstalling the drivers just thought there was going to be some sort of Workaround??

Are you still able to get the Old 3D Control Panel??

The old 3D control panel is an option in the new popup, something like "More properties" or something similar, I am not at the desktop so can't tell you exactly what it is. Yep I've always get the old 3D control panel back with this option.

I uninstalled & Reinstalled the 162.50 and did the reg tweak All back to normal

Still NOT sure what happened for me to loose it??



EDIT: looks like I spoke to soon I closed the old control Panel I went back in after I typed the above message I lost the Old Control Panel again?? There is an Option in the new Control Panel to use the Old Control Panel but that is Not working?? Help??

OK It is working again Not sure what is going on but it works now. I did select the option in Windows control Panel the select nVidia Control Panel the selected View Old Control Panel then it worked as it should have?? Perhaps a Workaround or my computer is just going bonkers??
