hi all, long time lurker, first time poster here. been doing 3d with nvidia cards since the ED days, currently have proper 3d vision glasses which i use with the proper 3d vision driver. (still have tridef, but don't/can't use it)

my problem is that i can get 3d in any 120hz display mode except 720p. i'm using an HD65 DLP projector with the latest firmware and the ACER H5360 EDID override driver. in all other display modes where 3D doesn't work, like 1920x1080 for example, it looks like it's at least trying to do 3D (ie the sync is slightly off) but at 720p, in 3D mode the image flicks between the left and right eye view every 10 seconds rather than every frame.

it sucks playing games at 1024x768 on a 16:9 display, i'd really appreciate any help/suggestions!

What type of connector are you using to the projector? DVI or HDMI?

Regards,
Neil

thank you for your reply, the projector is connected via HDMI (there is no DVI input unfortunately). i did try a number of different HDMI cables when i first got this problem, and none made any difference.

just to help narrow the problem down a little, i'm pretty sure the PJ is receiving a 120hz signal as it allows "3D mode" to be enabled. any other refresh rate will cause that option to be grayed out.

edit:
OH FFS!!!

i can't tell you how long i've been struggling with this problem, and just now i decided to take a look into the hidden settings menu while i was in 3D mode with the nvidia demo up. after a few seconds it switched into 3D! when the hidden menu is up it resets the keystone correction setting, and somehow having it set above 10 had been stopping the 3D effect from working correctly. also kind of explains why i've not heard of anyone else with this problem.

as it's obviously a problem with the projector, i doubt you'll be able to help me further, but thank you for your reply anyway! i hope if anyone else has this issue they have the good fortune to see this thread because i consider myself extremely lucky to have figured this out!

Glad you got it figured out. Being not much more than an average Joe myself when it comes to projectors, I really hate futzing with keystone. It makes me feel that I am sacrificing resolution and size just because I have the projector in a crappy place..
