I wish I could find someone who owned/owns one so I could get an idea if it's worth the money.

I guess if you only have 1 camera $340 would be a great deal!

You could check out http://www.stereo3d.com/stereocam.htm if you haven't already.

Good luck.

watch iut the NuView adapter works only with SD camcorders and not with HD camcorders (zhe used shutter system does not work correct - there is a huge delay -> the shutter changes left/right somewhere at 1/3 of the image

Thanks for the info wbloos, I did see one article that stated a Sony HD camcorder had worked well with Stereocam.

Some HD camcorders use strange versions of MPEG4 that screws up the interlacing and thus the 3D effect of Stereocam.

Here is a video showing something like what you mentioned (delayed LCD shutter on an HD camcorder): http://www.vimeo.com/860602

That's way too much money.
I just bought a dual camera bracket off ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/Dual-Camera-Bracket-Mount-2-Cameras-3D-Stereoscopic-NEW_W0QQitemZ200380282030QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2ea79874ae

slap two cameras, and correct for parallax. Obviously, it's better to get camcorders that shoot in progressive.

Buy yourself a clapper or just clap your hands after you press record and yell "action" and you're good to go.
