Ok guys. Imagine Second Life in stereo meets 3D youtube mashed up with stereo content Itunes. Welcome to the AlterSpace. A world where you can play, chat interact and upload/watch/purchase 3D videos all from a stereo virtual world. This is TDVision's convergence point and the place where you will be able to build your stereo virtual environment. Any questions, comments, feature requests, and visions please enumerate them here!

Can you post images from Alterspace in the MTBS photo gallery? It will help our members visualize it.

Do you see it as a Second Life model where people can walk around and talk to each other in 3D? That would be cool!

What about multiplayer games? Can people meet up, and launch multiplayer games from Alterspace on the fly?

Neil

AlterSpace Functionality and Examples

I'll get some screens together for the gallery. The AlterSpace is an an application that is constantly in development at our labs. We have tested with both using first person views as well as third person ala second life/project wonderland. A goal of ours is to provide two versions. A basic version that will come free with the TDVisor purchase which includes features to make avatars, basic environments, and to upload and view 3D content. We want to do a pro version as well where users can set up a virtual marketplace to sell content as well as use our SDK to create mini-games that be played from within the AlterSpace. If we can let the user open spreadsheets and things like that from within the environment that would be ideal. Launching external apps from AlterSpace will definitely be a feature we will implement.

Alterspace sounds cool. Although they overdo all the hype and branding. Personally I would have used less made-up buzzwords. The application itself sounds call enough when you just describe what it is.
