i would really like to have a shoutbox on the forum!
a shoutbox is a little chat, wich shows the last 5 things that has been written. it is not used as a chat but as a "sms board"... ok it was nto clear.. i make an example.. in a shoutbox usually you do not write how you are and wht you r dog is doing, because due to its limited lines its not easy. but you tell things like "hey come on msn" or "check the xyz thread" or "hi guys im online"... the last 5 (or 3 it can be set up) stay logged until a new one comes. its highly customizable and really cool.

some things needs to be said about the demo...
1) usually the shoutbox is placed between the logo (up here) and the text
"Meant to be Seen Forum Index -> MTBS Website Ideas"
2) usually the shoutbox is limited to 3 to 5 messages (can easily be set up)
3) usually every shout takes much less space.. should be set up easily by the admin..
4) usually the whole shoutbox is not that high... it takes only a third of that space.. else it would not be nice to have it up there.
these settings should all be easily set up by the admin trough the control pannel. so don't worry about these aspects.
and its also easy to install.. i installed some myself.
