Can you please tell me does the anaglyph glasses from the nvidia 3d vision discover package come in cardboard or plastic framed glasses?

Probably paper Nvidia likes to be cheap. Why else would it be free!

Thanks for the reply

Here is the photo of the glasses I am referring to http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_ ... asses.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; They look plastic and paper framed. It's hard to tell.

They are paper/cardboard.

I imagine they are probably better than any other paper glasses you can get but I'm not sure how they compare to high-end plastic frames.

wow why would nvidia even release the above- they look so good some that are new to 3d might think they are the "actual" 3d vision glasses. best looking anaglyph glasses that I've seen.

I have those bogus 3D Vision glasses. They are not that great. I think the paper ones I send out for free are better.

I have to agree. Anaglyph never looked so cool. Are the red and cyan shades compatible with traditional anaglyph, or just Nvidia's choice of color scheme?

Regards,
Neil

It arrived today. It is indeed not that good : \
The frame itself is fantastic, but the red filter isn't perfect. It's such a shame. It lets a bit of the blue image through, while the "real" nvidia paper ones don't.

hmm. What if... I heard there was a method to alter the anaglyph colors in registry. Anyone knows something specific about that? I should only change the red tint a tiny bit

You can only alter the intensity of the basecolors of your screen, not the actual wavelengths of the subpixels. If the subpixelcolor bleeds through the fliter in the glasses there's practically nothing you can do.
You can often adjust the colors to a less ghosting experience but it'll almost always be on cost of the total experience anyway.

So I should lower the gamma of the blue picture?
How do I do that?

....

Now that I played for some time with the new plastic glasses, I say it's not that bad. The lenses are a bit lighter saturated, wich causes a tiny bit of ghosting, but at the same time they kinda feel more comfortable... It's like it's just inside the borders of the white-balancing ability of my brain, and I don't notice color differences between my eyes that I do using the paper glasses

Have you tried the Pro-Ana glasses? I think they are the best.

Sigh... another product that's only availble on the other side of the Atlantic ocean. I'd love to order one of those now that I know about them, but putting another 26 bucks into anaglyphism is not the way to go... I should just get a damn vg278h already.

Thanks for the info nevertheless
