Any bass players around?

Does anyone play on a bass guitar?
I'm looking for a good one and so far two have caught my eye: An Ibanez SR700 and a Cort Artisan A4.
The thing is I couldn't test the Cort
. I tested some lower models and while some of them sound better than higher priced models of different brands I felt I was lacking something. I have a hunch that the Cort will beat the Ibanez hands down, but I couldn't find this model around my place.
Thoughts?
