Differences in NVIDIA Brands

This may be a stupid question but here goes. Assuming you have a GTS275 as the model, is there a major difference between a GTS275 from EVGA, BFG, Zotac [?], XFX and the others or is it just packaging. I'm not talking about overclocking. They all have the same GPU and let's assume the same amount of memory and connectors. They will [assume] all use the same NVIDIA drivers. They may throw in a free game or some other stuff.

There is no difference at all. Pretty much all the vendors get their cards from the same OEM factory and basically just slap their logo on it. In practice the cards may have some differentiation, like custom heat-sinks/cooling systems, upgraded RAM, pre-overclocking, etc. but the actual Nvidia graphics chip is identical. What you are paying for when you buy a name brand (like EVGA) is their support and the warranty. Its not like one brand is going to have better performance or anything like that.

Actually, a small change in components could give one card a slight performancxe edge. Take to CPUs or GPUs, put a crappy fan on one and a good fan on the other and the latter will probably perform better as it's staying cooler.

Outside of that, OK, it's support and minor enhancements.
