Other affordale s3d solutions besides nvidia/iz3d?

Post by DavidGhast »

Are there any s3d solutions (hmd's,projectors,etc..) capable of 1280x720 that are under $1000 besides iz3d and nvidia?

Yeah, there's the Zalman Trimon which is the best out of the bunch if you ask me. Does 1680x1050 interlaced with almost no ghosting and a nice flicker-free image. Very nice and its affordable now. I got it at this place they have it for around $300:

So the only affordable 3d solutions out there are limited to monitors? Are there any filter kits on the market that can turn a normal projector into a passive polarized one?

I'm not even sure if that would be possible, so no, theres nothing like that available. If you want to go the projector route then maybe you want to look into the Viewsonic 3D-Ready projector (PJD6220-3D). Does 1024x768 @ 120Hz and works with the Nvidia 3D Vision. Looks like its for sale at around $900:

Other than what we've already mentioned the only other affordable option is the VR920 HMD which goes for around $300 these days. However it uses its own driver which only works with a limited number of games (may work with iz3d driver but I've never tried it). Also its only 640x480 and the FOV is rather small even compared to a 22" monitor. Not recommended in my opinion but it is another option.
