SF BIO (Svensk Filmindustri BIO) is going for 3D

Post by Likay »

These aren't freshest of news but some swede people might be interested if it has slipped them. 8)
If you don't know swedish then you'll probably wont get too much from the link but a short explanation follows.... ;)
http://www.sf.se/3d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

SF is the biggest swedish company in cinemabusiness. They've recently prepared 8 3D-ready saloons in some of our major cities. The technique is pasivve polarization/silverscreen with 140Hz projectors. (Probably alters left/right views 140 times a second and at the same time polarization).
They're in full progress of showing 3d-movies. For now movies showing are:
Monsters vs Aliens 3D
Resan till jordens medelpunkt 3D (Journey to the center of the earth 3D)
Bolt 3D

Coming 3D-movies 3D-filmer på SF Bio 2009:
Coraline och spegelns hemlighet - 15 maj
My Bloody Valentine - 29 maj
U2 3-D - våren 09
Ice Age 3 - 1 juli
G-Force - 4 september
Upp - 16 oktober
A Christmas Carol - 13 november
Avatar - 18 december

Coming 3D-movies 3D-filmer på SF Bio 2010:
Det regnar köttbullar - januari
Toy Story - sportlovet 09
Alice i underlandet - mars
Piranha - mars
Toy Story 2 - påsk 09
Shrek 4 - maj
Toy Story 3 - september

Not too bad since we only had one real imax and one themepark-rig with capabilities to show 3d until now. :)
