Orange France to broadcast football match live in 3D

Orange France will air an experimental broadcast of a football match between Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain in 3D on 24 April. The championship game will be filmed with six stereoscopic cameras and will be broadcast live in the two clubs' stadiums for invited fans who will wear 3D glasses. The operation is being run in partnership with the French professional football league and Ligue 1's executive producer, HBS. The match will also be broadcast in HD for Orange sport channel subscribers on Orange TV and on orange.fr. The operator first trialled 3D broadcasting at the Roland Garros International Tennis Open last year. It has already announced plans for a 3D opera broadcast in Rennes in June.
