NVIDIA series 20X0 still best support for 3D?

im trying to decide what vidcard to get to use with vr hmd for 3d games (not vr games but 3d graphics games i want to play in 3d depth view)
or if projector plus glasses is better id use that instead of vr hmd (i cant find any posts in the forum that compare them?)

i read i will have to use programs like helixmod and vorpx to play 3d games in vr hmd with real 3d view
and that those programs work best through 3dvision and you have to have nvidia 20x0 for that

recently helixmod stopped development and now there are all these new programs to use instead

do u still get best 3d support with a 2-series nvidia card? (i guess because it runs on 3dvision era drivers)

with all the new drivers/utilities is there still any reason not to get a 3-series or 4-series (and stick with earlier cards)?

anything at all that makes 2series support any better with any types of games? (dgvoodoo glide or early dx versions, games with native 3dvision support, opengl games, any dx versions in particuler, etc?)

I suggest getting both 2XXX and 3XXX cards, and dual booting (DDU uninstall for graphics driver update, as minimum step, if using single OS), disabling one of the graphics cards with Device Manager in each OS boot. The 2XXX card with 425 driver provides broadest 3D Vision gaming support (like DX9 games), while 3XXX/4XXX cards provide better performance for VR viewing.

thanks :geek:

do i understand correctly:

geo11/dgvoodoo can make dx9 3dvision work on 3/4 series (by changing output to dx11/vulkan) but as of now they just are more likely to have graphics glitches than 2 series native support?

so possibly geo11 and other tools that already exist could get good enough eventually to make 3/4 series equal to 2 series drivers?

We really have no idea what tools will continue to be developed (devs are now silent), and a few games may never work as well with geo-11. Some DX11 games (like a number of masterotaku’s) have been preconfigured for geo-11 (thank you!), while others games may or may not work. We report our testing results in these forums.
