If Apple's no-fee licensing wasn't enough to entice manufacturers, the Mini DisplayPort connector is now being added to VESA's DisplayPort 1.2 specifications. The update will also double the available bandwidth to 5.4Gbps, which can be used for 1920 x 1080 stereoscopic 3D imagery, four 1920 x 1200 screens, or one massive 3840 x 2160 display. According to Register Hardware, the 1.2 standard will be published by the middle of this year.

with four 1920x1200 screens you can do 3840 x 1200 dual output 3D (theoretically I don't know if you can split it).
Why they say that it only cam 1920x1080 S-3D? Cause it's 1080p-3D?

No one says a word about refresh rate. I guess these ~10.8Gbps are enough for 1080p@120Hz (24bit), this would guarantee compatibility with future 120Hz TVs ready for shutter-mode (nv 3d vision or any other future standard like let's say for consoles). According to wikipedia (cuz I couldn't find any official standard info) this would require ~6Gbps so it fits in nicely.
