ASUS ROG PG27VQ - 165 Hz, 1440p, 1 ms, 1800R curve, G-Sync, 3D VISION!

I've seen so many posts over the years of people asking what the newest / last official 3D Vision monitors are, which are the best ones, etc. I usually see the Dell S2716DG / S2716DGR, the ASUS ROG PG278Q, and the ASUS ROG PG278QR mentioned. However, it seems there's a monitor that is newer than all of those. The ASUS ROG PG27VQ / PG27V (not sure if there's a difference). From the specs, it seems close to the PG278QR however there are 2 differences that immediately stand out:
- the PG27VQ is curved (1800R)
- the PG27VQ is rated 50 cd/m² brighter at 400 cd/m² max brightness (could this mean more brightness during 3D Vision / Lightboost / ULMB mode?)

Does anyone here having any experience or know anything about the ASUS ROG PG27VQ? Is the PG27VQ the "be all, end all" official-3D-Vision monitor?

P.S. Apparently the Acer Predator Z271U is also officially 3D Vision compatible. It's not stated on the product's webpage but it's stated in the manual. It's 400 cd/m² and 1800R curved like the ASUS PG27VQ but 144 Hz instead of 165 Hz.

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with the ASUS ROG PG27VQ? Is the PG27VQ the ultimate 3D-Vision display? Upon closer inspection, two key distinctions separate it from the PG278QR.

It's curved? The 3d image will most likely look the same as the flat models, Not really a big difference. Spin1, the OP, has not been seen here for quite a while for some reason. I've even helped up set up a samsung odyssey G7 for 3d vision. We originally has issues with it, but I've figured it out and he's no where to be seen.

There are newer TN 27" 1440p monitors like the Pixio PX278, which is suppose to have a wider color gamut, that can possibly do 3d vision as well for a better experience over the previous official 3d vision monitors. The 32" odyssey G7 is worth upgrading to over the 27" 3d vision monitors if you are willing to tinker with it to get it to work. I've explained how to in these subs.

A s2716dg uses the same panel as the pg278QR, can be found for cheaper.

I haven't tested any ultrawides, the only ones that could be capable of 3d vision due to their pixel response times are the woled and the qd-oled.

Is it possible to have a G7 for 3D Vision ?
I know every tries with monitors no 3D Vision was a fail because u can't find the good timings and there are a lot of ghosting...

I got PG278QR and OLED 65CV.
I got Samsung G9 too but i can't use it for 3D Vision and pg278qr starts to be a bit old vs my G9 or OLED LG.

yeah I got it to work, but you'll need to tune the timing of the 3d glasses so it can sync up perfectly to the G7. It's a bit of trial and error tuning the glasses with nvtimingsED, but it is doable. Little to no crosstalk especially when the panel warms up, there is some overdrive shadows appearing for darker areas, but not too bad for the most part I definitely prefer the G7 for 3d vision over the 3d vision official monitors. The rokid max AR glasses could probably be a better solution for 3d gaming, but 3d vision gaming only works on monitors.

The oled monitor should be able to do 3d vision as well, though they will need at least 250nits of fullscreen brightness. And only the QD-oled can do that atm. Won't get the ghosting from the overdrive in oled monitors.
