Just noticed this is on sale. I'm eyeing for a potential replacement for my aging 23" Asus. This would give me 2 (size)-matched Asus monitors, but I only want it if it's compatible. :shutter I'm liking that it has DVI-D connection still.

Maybe put the model in the subject line to make it easier.

This page says it`s not 3D compatible, but I`m not sure.

only 27" max résolution 2560 x 1440 for 3d monitors so my question is :

is it better to use a VR helmet as a 3d screenplay with 4k resolution ?

who tested and compared the best result ?

Thanks for the tip. Also cool resource for monitor comparisons. Huh... I figured it would be but I guess not. Glad I asked!

I purchased one from Newegg a few weeks back. Their site said it was 3D. It features a TN screen - which at least made it a long-shot possibility. I then went to Amazon to look at consumer reviews... a couple of which verified that it was 3DV-compatible. So, I thought I would give it a shot.

Nope... no bueno - sent it back.

3DNovice wrote: Fri Apr 30, 2021 7:29 am AFAIK, the only monitor that you can find new anymore is the 24 inch 1080P Asus VG248QE with Display Port/ Dual Link DVI

I imagine that these will not last long, since they are no longer manufactured.

One poster mentioned getting a new one on e-bay as well.
Yeah you must be right about them not lasting long... the link you posted is 404

I don't want to inject any negativity here, but trying to understand the reality of the situation... Most of you have newer systems/components than me... so what is everyone going to if there are no more 3D monitors available?? It seems as though every necessary component required for 3D Vision is fading into obsolescence, so... what do we do?

I have had good luck with knock-off glasses and emitters. There are a couple of them out there now. Also, not sure how long that the VG248QE on Amazon will last, but Amazon is currently showing 3 in stock in the US. I have purchased one and have followed it since. It is sold via the "ASUS Store" on Amazon (whatever that means), and the stock has fluctuated. A few days ago, it said they had one in stock, then it was seven. Today... three.

Hello,
You can do that by:
+having a nvidia 3dvision emitter.
+Set a profile for your display in 3DfixManager (choose a profile in the title bar between monitor, projector or 3Dtv, then go on setings -> display profile -> tick and modify the profile you choose previously).
-> Games launched in 3D via 3Dfixmanager may use crt mode.

If it don't work, you'll have to make an EDID hack using CRU (Custom Resolution Utility) bu ToastyX (easyer) or monitor asset manager (moninfo.exe) by entech taiwan. You may just have to replace the device ID (also called "plug and play ID" in moninfo) by something nvidia will allow to go in crt mode, like some optoma's projectors ID i.e. "OTM1727".

If it syill don't work, use this method:
viewtopic.php?p=177189#p177189
By doing that, 3DTV play will be replaced by generic crt into 3Dvision control panel.
It means that 3Dvision driver and software using quad buffer:
+will make your graphic card outputting frame sequantial.
+will not be able anymore to output 720p 60 3D HDMI frame packed (not an issue) and 1080p24 3D frame packed (may be interresting for playing 3D blurays).

Because EDID is a ROM inside the display that inform the source (your PC) of his capabilities including color profile; I advise you to not using pre-built EDID hack except if it's precisely build for the same display model you're using.
