3D Fix Manager and RTX 3080 ?

Post by Sci666 »

Hello, i just wanted to start 3d via 3d vision. i wanted this for a long time and now i got a set for cheap ... they will arrive today ! but i think my happiness was to early ....

i found the 3d fix manager and theres a hint that you have to isntall Version 452.06 nvidia drivers. but i have a RTX 3080 this driver doesnt work with 3080 ...its to old :(

does that mean i cannot play any games in 3d with my 3080 exept dx12 and vulkan titles ?

what can i do here ? or just wait until somebody find a way to implement 3d capability to current drivers ?

i have a secondary weaker gaming PC with a GTX 1080 but i think it has not enough power to play in 1440p with uwqhd in 3d :(

awww its so frustratig that nvidia canceled this ..... its like EAX ...all the good techs that came far to early was cancelled

Hi

You cannot play dx12 titles, only vulkan using Vulkan3dvision (but boy, is Doom Eternal amazing in 3d). No way currently to use 3-series cards with 3d vision.

But your old gtx 1080 will be good for a LOT of the games fixed for 3d vision. It is much more likely that you will run into CPU limitations (due to 3d vision not using all cores).

My experience is that 1080p is the best resolution for 3d vision. Just more responsive and fluid than 1440p. Strive for 1080p/60fps in all games.

Best of luck!
3D Vision rig -> 8700k oc 4.9, asus rog 2080ti, 16 GB DDR4 3200 Mhz ram, Win 7 running driver 425.31 on SSD1, Win 10 running driver 452.06 on SSD2, Win 10 running latest Nvidia driver for Vulkan3dV and 2D gaming on SSD3, for 3d vision display: 1080p on VG248QE (and sometimes 1440p on PG278PR), Valve Index or Optoma UHD42 projector

Yeah, unfortunately Nvidia broke the DX11 path which means no stereo 3D available there any more.

This is what still works with 3D Vision:

DiretX 9, OpenGL and Vulkan games.

We are currently working on bringing back 3D Vision DX11 compatibility via Reshade and SuperDepth 3D. Although it uses zDepth it looks better than we expected. Still better than no 3D on latest graphics cards.

OK I try to run doom. Picture on monitor looks doubled but through the goggles no difference, seems that they don't sync? I have a gsync monitor.... I read that gsync and 3d vision not work together. Do I have to disable gsync manually?

So I tried some things... I setup my alternative 1080 system with 3d fix manager and the old Nvidia driver. So far so good... Gaming does not work! Picture doubles and no difference with or without the goggles. Seems that they not sync. My monitor is no real 3d monitor. It is a uwqhd 120hz monitor (agon Ag352ucg6) via display port. It has an additional hdmi but there are only 60hz available. No dvi! What did i wrong?

It might be obvious but, that's step by step:
1°) look at the quick start guide: does the battery is charged (it's quite long to charge), nothing is blocking the IR receiver and transmitter? And other stuff.

2°) Try the 3dvision configuration assistant before trying to play any game. When it ask you to switch on and try your glasses, verify that they become darker than when they're off.

3°) If at this point it's ok but the glasses does not separate the right from the left picture, it means that the screen input lag and delays does not match with the one applied by the 3Dvision pyramid driver. You may have to manually create/edit a profile for your screen with adequate delays. There is a thread for that here: viewtopic.php?f=181&t=25545

Yes picture getting darker and if I looked on some leds from keyboard I see a flickering, so the glasses do something.... So it has nothing to do with dvi and/or display ports?

AfaIk, no, dual link DVI requirement is an old stuff when HDMI and DP was not good enough.
Also be aware to setup your monitor as it as less possible screen persistence (you might search on user manual, reviews and forums about your monitor).

OK, but how do I proceed with the nvtimingsed? I don't understand what should I do with a edited entry in the rogramm? Save it back to the Nvidia folder? How can I force the pc to use this'll specific edited profile?

I don't know, I just saw that some guy did that, I did not still tried it myself but I'll do it in a few weeks with my DLP projector as I have a pair of 3Dvision glasses.

Nvidia 3D Vision certified/white listed monitors are plug and play.

You can try doing what this poster did, as posted above by Guig2000
viewtopic.php?f=181&t=25545
In regards to the use of the sync timing editor, you might try PMing the OP or looking on the Nvidia 3D Vision forums, where the app was initially introduced and discussed.
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/fo ... mentPage=3

or what this guy did
viewtopic.php?f=181&t=25620

or using a 3D capable projector, preferably with Frame Sequential support

or a HMD (Head Mounted Display) in addition to using Helixvision, available on Steam
