Avatar 2 coming December 2021, could use 4K 3D, HDR, HFR

Just wanted to check how Avatar 2 is doing, it looks like it will finally arrive in December 2021, and with some big jump in terms of 3d tech:

I'm glad there are still visionaries that go beyond "mass market". I said the same thing to someone on Facebook complaining Alyx was VR-only. Mind you, Cameron has the means to do this but he didn't have to.

I doubt this will push 3D like 11 years ago (still cant believe it was so long ago) but it will be interesting to watch. Also, while it is a year away, I fear COVID will still have a negative effect here with most ppl missing out on the 3d viewing and just watching it on their 2d TVs. I hope I'm wrong.

It's standard, cinema standard and they predate home video standard, and they're universal all around the world, contrary to home video which come from on local electricity frequency (ie 50 Hz, not 60 in Europe).

I definitely want to watch avatar 2 in 3d. I remember watching avatar 1 on my 3d vision monitor from way back when, the TN panel really made the colors look bad and low quality.

I feel like the tech industry to trying to make another 3d push right now, albeit slowly. I think the way things are moving, the technology is moving towards VR/AR headsets which is all about 3d space. I'm hoping we get there soon, so we can get better 3d movies and higher resolution 3d displays.

I think a full wrap around widescreen 3d monitor would be an awesome experience over VR headsets.

Personally, I can't wait to experience HFR movies at home

I saw "Avatar - The Way of Water" 2 times in the cinema. 1 time with 3D HFR and once in 3D without HFR and I made the decision never again to watch a 3D movie with HFR. It is just terrible. Lots of double images and the picture looks extremely unnatural. Without HFR there are no double images and the picture looks just perfect. I regretted it the first time I watched the movie with HFR.

This is my opinion about it.
