Baldur's Gate 3

Post by helifax »

I am not sure if there is a topic on this game.
But the game was released today as Early Access :)

One thing of note:
RECOMMENDED:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel i7 4770k / AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB / AMD RX580
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 150 GB available space
Additional Notes: Default API is Vulkan 1.1. Directx11 API also provided. The recommended requirements might decrease over the course of Early Access, as performance improves.

As a big fan of Baldur's Gate I & !! I will definitely take a look at it at some point in the future ;) I defo need to take some time off and play some games in the meantime :)

Cheers,
Helifax

Good to know. I'll have to check the consensus on this one, because from what I've seen...I don't know, it looks strange, I don't get the feel of the originals. And not sure about turn-based. But I hope it works out. If it's a great game and has a 3D fix, that would give us hundreds of hours of 3D gameplay :D

I remember Baldur's gate 2 and Throne of Bhaal expansion. One of the best games of all time for me and many others!

BG3 in 3D in some fashion would be amazing! :woot

Larian’s turns-based Divinity: Original Sin I and II are great games, with hundred of hours of superb 3D gaming (helixmod.blogspot fixes). I think some of the unfavorable early access reviews may be premature...

Really appreciative if you look at this for a vulkan Fix Helifax. Big fan of the originals as well as D:OS2 (although I think larian will be better served using the D&D Ruleset.)

DX11 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have fixed the things here except the UI, this will take its time because it more or less verry important for this type of game:

A WIP is available @ my private 3D-Vision Discord channel, as well as the release if i have finished it up!

Very very nice!!!!
I also want to see what I can do on the Vulkan renderer, I didn't get very far because in the early days they kept on pushing updates and ended up playing the first full act in the end :)))

Awesome work as ever!

wow! very, very nice indeed, Losti! The UI looks pretty much perfect, minus the map section seems shifted to the top maybe? I can't really spot faults.

Also, are the shadows off? The characters don't seem to cast them.

Great to see there will be a fix for this huge game, keeping us in the 3D wonderland for another 100-200h :D

Yeah, would love to see a comparison in 3D between DX11 and Vulkan. There is also a damn problem with some parts of the shadows lefter here in DX11 that i still was not able to fix since over 30hrs of trying :woot I am curiouse if you have this issue as well in Vulkan.

I have released the fix at the Blog today. The download link is in my discord channel (lostis_room) at 3D-Vision Discord. You should have access there if you want to try/compare.

Does anyone have a copy of Losti’s fix for this game? The full release is finally planned for August this year. The last time I checked, the installation file was more than 100 GB for the current (incomplete) version.

Update: I found UnityBeing's archive of Losti's extensive work - see viewtopic.php?t=26588. Thank you, UnityBeing for searching for and sharing this information!

Tested latest version (Patch 9) with Losti's version 1.0 fix. Unfortunately, some issues exist. Note that this game supports both Vulcan and DX11 (516.59 driver or later).

Thank you for all your outstanding work and dedication to perfection in 3D gaming, Losti! I hope you continue to enjoy 3D gaming a little, even after the end of your incredible shaderhacker adventure, which has consumed 1000's of hours of your precious time (too much time, not fair to you). The legacy of your incredible UE4-UF fix will continue for years, superbly adapting to some of the most current games like Midnight Suns.
