Samsung 120Hz LCD monitor -- SyncMaster 2233RZ
I already posted this in another thread http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.p ... 4&start=15 but it is buried in a different topic, and I think it is worth highlighting in its own thread.
The Samsung 120Hz S3D 22" LCD monitor is the SyncMaster 2233RZ. You can find the online manual here: http://astkorea.iptime.org/fileupload/b ... /index.htm (You can download the PDF too.)
Here is a thread with some pictures and discussions: http://forums.legitreviews.com/about19198.html

What input format(s) does this accept for 3D (line interlace, checkerboard, page-flipping)? Does the glasses emitter plug into the display?
Thanks!

It uses page-flipping. It is one of those monitors that will use NVIDIA's upcoming shutter glasses and drivers. (So it should be considered NVIDIA-only for now.)

Does the display itself provide the 3D sync out?
Thanks for the info!

I don't think the display itself provide the 3D sync. (This is different than the Samsung DLP/Plasma S3D HDTVs.) Anyways you can check out the online manual yourself.

Re: Samsung 120Hz LCD monitor -- SyncMaster 2233RZ
MSRP $399; planned to be available in April (for USA I guess). Reference is a press release in MS Word doc format: http://www.samsung.com/global/experienc ... 2233RZ.doc
I guess the competitors (from Viewsonic etc.) will be similarly priced.
Adding the MSRP $199 NVIDIA glasses, and I think the 120Hz LCD monitor solution is not price-competitive with IZ3D at all. (I think the NVIDIA glasses should be MSRP $100-$150, and 120Hz 22" LCD monitor should be MSRP $300-350, to be price-competitive with IZ3D.)

Definitely a pricing disadvantage but it will be interesting to see who wins the image quality war. Hopefully consumers will get what they pay for...

I would love for someone to do a side by side comparison of the Nvidia/Samsung solution to the IZ3D solution.
I want to know mostly about brightness and ghosting.

Now this official Samsung news blog says MSRP $349: http://www.samsungusanews.com/2009/01/s ... d-monitor/
Also $349 in this Samsung press release: http://www.samsungusanews.com/2009/01/s ... 3d-vision/
But the original press release (the MS Word doc linked-to earlier) says $399. I hope this is because Samsung realizes it is not price-competitive with IZ3D (when adding cost of NVIDIA glasses). I guess lowering of price is good news.

I did not know that it was possible to use a DVI connection at a resolution of 1680x1050 at 120 Hz. That's great. I thought all those new monitors would have been forced to use a VGA connector.

These monitors use dual-link DVI connections, like 30" monitors.
I wish iZ3D could use also it for the next models
