3D Vision not workin with latest NVDIA driver

Post by polts »

The latest version of 3D Fix manager doesn't work with the latest NVIDIA driver.
The version that works for me is 425.31

Any idea why this problem ?

You are sure to use the latest version of 3D Fix Manager? Are you perhaps on Win10 1903/1909? Then Downgrade to 1809, stay with 425.31, or use this method in testing.
To install latest drivers on 1809 and before yourself use Lost's solution. But 3D Fix Manager actually has a method to do that too. What exactly do you mean, when you say it doesn't work?

EDIT: Note: if you want 3D Fix Manager to install the latest driver automatically you may not use version 1.74 (it's enforcing 425.31 on 1903+).

My system is Microsoft Windows 10 Professionnel, OS : 10.0.18362

My 3D driver is at the latest (1.74), I updated it yesterday.

When I say it does not works, it means when I turn on the nvidia stereoscopic 3D (button upper rigth corner of the 3D Fix Manager), the window of the software close with no message.

Yep, that's 1903. You can check that when you enter winver in search-field and run it (it's between version and build).
As noted above - so far you have actually 3 options how to handle it.

So I got a new rig ( ryzen 3600, 16gb ddr4 3200, 1080ti) and tried the 1809 solution. First I installed 425.31 drivers, then I installed 3d vision fix manager, and it asked me to install the latest drivers fix (I think 441 or something). 3d fix manager did its thing, installed the new drivers, also the 3d vision installer and 3d vision shows in the nvidia driver page.

However I can't get 3d vision to kick in in games. I can get to see the image samples in the 3d vision installer and I can also see the images in 3d from the 3d vision manager if i turn them full screen, however neither the 3d vision driver test, nor Ori or Black the Fall worked in 3d. Everything worked fine on 425 though.

So any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I believe a brand new driver was released this week, and not sure what the compatibility is with our latest hacks so it's possible something may have been broken in the latest driver. I do know the 411.12 driver definitely works, so perhaps DDU and install that driver and have 3DFM install the 3D Vision driver without updating. Or, when in doubt, roll back to 425.31. I keep going back to that because there's little to offer with the latest drivers, and the headaches aren't worth it to continuously jump through hoops getting the newer drivers working for me.

I suppose you mean 441.12 , and yep I checked and there's new 441.20 released, so maybe there's some issue with it. I'll try to DDU, install 441.12 and see how it works, and yeah if not convinced i'll go back to 425.31, thanks for the help.
