A Plague Tale: Innocence

Post by whyme466 »

Finally got around to playing this unique game. DHR has, once again, created an outstanding 3D Vision fix that should be enjoyed by everyone! I hope he knows how much his universal and game-specific fixes have been and continue to be appreciated...

I should note that after following DHR's installation instructions, I still had a slight double image around some objects like main character's hair and portions of father's coat (start of game). In ENGINESETTINGS, I changed AA (and DOF and MotionBlur) from Disable to Enabled 0, then reset file Read Only attribute. This corrected double/incorrect objects I noticed. I also set MaxAnisotropy to 16.
Dual boot VR/3D Vision disk partitioning (multiple SSDs). 3D Vision - Windows 10 v1809, 425.31 driver, 32 GB, i9-9900X@4.5 GHz, hybrid-cooled 2080Ti, 4K LG E6 OLED TV with EDID. VR/geo-11 - 3080Ti with Vive Pro 2, also have Aero, wireless lens-modified Vive Pro, Index, Reverb G2, Pimax 8K.

Chtiblue - did you perform helixmod.blogspot suggested setting "Enabled 0 ---> Disable"? This created problem for my setup.

It's a shame that DHR is no more with us. He's taste to games was very good.

We users really need to let our shaderhackers know how much we value their incredibly hard work, done out of their love of immersive 3D gaming (no ancient 2D) . I suggest PM'ing DHR (or PayPal donation), to let him know how much his work (and the work of others) is appreciated. Perhaps he will become less disillusioned if he thinks this community is growing again. By the way, I believe HelixVision can create a number of new community members, with the appropriate market visibility - but time is an issue, with post 425.31 driver issues...

We need a new discussion topic sharing current donation information for our 3D Vision tool/shader specialists, so those that who choose can tip them for this incredible work (we could never pay for all the long hours they dedicate). I attempted google search of 3D Vision forum, but I could not find the last discussion topic listing this donation information - and 3D Vision forum search is futile.

With this community growth(?), I suggest that any profit made from HelixVision is largely focused upon post Jan 2020 3D, ideally a post 425.31 DX12-capable "3D Vision" solution, with some shaderhacker profit sharing (I believe bo3b already plans some type of shaderhacker profit sharing).

So DHR officially retired from shaderhacking? this is more depressing news than Nvidia dropping support for 3D vision. He had great taste in games, and fixed a large amount of the ones I played. I wish I had the money to completely fund fixes and development of a new standalone driver, I need to play the lottery. Its a shame no one rich or famous ever got hooked on 3D gaming...

Is this only you having this problem? If not may be a patch breaking the fix??

Losti - as I mentioned above, I believe suggested setting "Enabled 0 ---> Disable" created problem for my setup, so I reverted to Enabled 0 setting (and changed several other settings, also). Completed the game without any more issues.
