Alternative headtracking wit TrackIR and FreePIE? *PREVIEW*

Post by edelatze_roman »

Hi,

I would like to improve the visibility in my racing simulator using a TrackIR system.
Therefore, I want edit the values from the TrackIR tracking system, before they get to the racing simulation.

Because I have no idea from programming, I would like ask you if my project is realizable.

1. FreePIE gets the raw data from Head Tracking hardware
2. With my algorithm I can recalculate the raw data with FreePIE
3. FreePIE sends the new data to TrackIR software.
4. In the TrackIR software I use the one:one preset, to avoid changes to the updated data
5. Simulation runs with my recalculated data

If everything work like it should, the result would be this.
Now you can look around the A-Piller by moving your head to the side, without changing the position of the A-Piller

Sorry for loud background sound. This video needs no sound.
This video was made by using 60 screenshots which are centred to a new pivot point
