Leap Motion or Razer Hydra?

I do have a soft spot for PC controllers (as my collection of P5/GameTrak/Balance Boards/HOTAS etc. can attest) so I have decided it is time for another unreasonable purchase. However, my common sense still tries to take over, so I have to choose one item only. For various reasons it has come down to the choice between Leap Motion and Razer Hydra. They are somewhat rare where I live, but I still can spot a decent bargain from time to time.
Do you have any of those? What are your impressions, especially lasting ones? I do not expect the controller to be used often or (heaven forbid!) to have any practical purpose, but then I would not like it to just gather dust. Of course, compatibility with FreePIE and ability to use the controller in weird control schemes is quite important as well.
