We currently have support for LibOVR (Oculus), OpenVR (HTC Vive) and OSVR (Razer HDK). If the cardboard solution does work together with SteamVR, the OpenVR profiles should actually work with it.

If this needs another API to access it eventually it should be easy to code another plugin here.
