THE SARAH JONES FILM FOUNDATION, IN ASSOCIATION WITH 3OPOLIS, SUPPORTS MAKING OF NEW FEATURE LENGTH DOCUMENTARY FILM 'WE ARE SARAH JONES'

Post by metalqueen »

Hollywood, CA
(May 5th, 2015) - The Sarah Jones Film Foundation, founded by Richard and Elizabeth Jones, and 3opolis LLC, a technology and production company, endorse filmmakers Eric Smith (TNT's Boston's Finest) and Christopher Crescitelli (Experience Montreux 3D/Sirius) to direct and produce a feature length documentary film, "We Are Sarah Jones" about the life of 27-year-old camera assistant Sarah Elizabeth Jones, who died February 20th, 2014 in a tragic train accident while filming on the set of the ill-fated "Midnight Rider" movie in Jesup, GA.

"Sarah's death galvanized our industry into focusing on the issue of set safety," states director Eric Smith. "Through the eyes of Richard and Elizabeth Jones, this documentary will explore who Sarah was and what it was about her that made her so beloved by so many of her colleagues - and, in turn, made her loss especially devastating. Our goal is to tell Sarah's story, and by doing so, to support the Sarah Jones Film Foundation's ultimate goals of promoting and encouraging set safety."

"Elizabeth and I stand behind and support the making of the "We Are Sarah Jones" documentary," says Richard Jones. "The goal is that it will serve to not just honor Sarah's legacy but to help engage the entire film community to generate achievable, productive, constructive on-set safety measures. Sarah's death cannot be in vain. Her life stood for something great and her passion for film is what drove her. Sarah died doing what she loved, how will her story be remembered? Never Forget, Never Again."

The film will also serve as a fund-raising vehicle for the Sarah Jones Film Foundation, so that it can further fulfill its stated mission "To foster on set safety through awareness and accountability." The project will kick off this summer with a high profile crowd funding campaign and is targeted for release in 2016.
