looks quite impressive since it's the first 'true' purpose built 3d webcam- hytekautomation does provide 3d webcams but those are just two regular webcams mounted on a tripod. However from what I've read thus far is that it is designed only for anaglyph- no word on what other formats their driver will support or if the hytekautomation driver will work with it. Still definitely something to watch along with fujifilms 3d cam and tdvCam. Also no word on it's supported resolution.

EDIT: just read that this thing was tested using Vuzix eyewear and, as they put it "two discreet images"- I think that's monoscoper talk for side-by-side.

For me that sounds like the cam does the conversion from S-3D to Anaglyph. So you'd need to 'hack' it to use it on IZ3D or Other 3D rigs :?

in the cnet article it says
Minoru fed two discrete images to a viewer on the other end wearing video goggles.
however the HMD method has one serious flaw- imagine 2 people talking to each other in hmd's hehe. maybe if it's one way it will do though. However if you wear something like iz3d style glasses could be quite awesome.
