This was my first ever real woodworking project, so go easy on me guys? It was also all done in about 2 days. I have plans to paint it black, as well as reinforcing it a bit to make it sturdier. So for now, the hardware is complete, and it's time to move over to software.
Basically, I can either use my 360 Kinect (hooked up with usb adapter to my PC) and use FAAST http://projects.ict.usc.edu/mxr/faast/[1] to setup profiles to convert motions into keystrokes, or possibly use a Wiimote hooked up over bluetooth, and use the Z-axis using a GlovePIE script. I've been having trouble setting up both of these, wanted to see if anybody here had any knowledge on the subject?

That's a great job Chris I must admit but I think you miss something about these OmniPods, AFAIK you can't just buy and use them seperately from Omni, they are sending all data to the processor attached to the Omni base and that device transfer data to the PCU, feel free to correct me but I don't think Virtuix will let everyone else to use whole concept of Omni by buying $ 79 worth tiny pods. Keep it up!

After doing some research this unfortunately appears to be the case. Bummer. I shall look into other methods of tracking input.

Also, here's a video of it in action with the Unreal Engine 4 Paris Apartment demo released a few days ago. It's a really enjoyable experience!
