LOS ANGELES — A host of epic video games are finally on the horizon for the consoles that arrived last year.

We tested out the hottest upcoming titles — along with a new virtual reality headset that’s in the works from Sony — at the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3.

The verdict: The games promise increased interconnectivity, improved visual realism and in-depth storytelling. That’s all good news for those who bought one of the new generation of consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4), only to discover that last year’s hyped “next-gen” games fell short.
