Samsung is preparing to launch its own 3-D simulator that will compete with Facebook's Oculus Rift, said a new report by Engadget. The Korean electronics giant has made moves like this before (jumping into an emerging market) and rumors are that they are planning on releasing their own virtual reality headset that will be announced this year.
The hardware will be powered by current generation Galaxy smartphones like the GS5 and Note 3. The version that Samsung will release for the consumer will have more horsepower and will be intended as an exclusive accessory for next-generation Galaxy smartphones and tablets.
