DDD licenses TriDef 3D to CVision Technology for glasses-free 3D mobile displays

Post by metalqueen »

Los Angeles, California:DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD; OTCQX: DDDGY), the advanced imaging and 3D solutions company, has licensed its TriDef® 3D Mobile content solutions to Hong Kong-based 3D technology company CVision Technology Co. Ltd for its new glasses-free 3D tablet and smartphone display solutions.

CVision will combine DDD's TriDef 3D Mobile conversion software for games, video and photos with CVision's range of glasses-free 3D displays using CVision's patented BLP parallax barrier technology. CVision will supply the combined display modules to OEM manufacturers of 3D smartphones and tablets. DDD will receive quarterly royalty revenues from CVision, based on the volume of 3D display modules shipped.

DDD's TriDef 3D Mobile solution allows over 80 of the latest mobile games to be played in stereoscopic 3D 'off the shelf', even though the game was not specifically developed for 3D.

CVision's advanced technology results in glasses-free 3D display solutions that add virtually no additional weight and thickness to LCD modules, and deliver a deep and clear 3D experience to consumers without the need for glasses.  The combined display module and software bundle will be offered to OEM manufacturers as a ready-to-implement solution with minimal integration time and cost.

CVision will also supply the recently released Yabazam® 3D Android app that provides access to the original 3D programming available via DDD's Yabazam content portal, which already includes 260 streaming 3D movie titles for viewing on 3D consumer devices.

Chris Yewdall, Chief Executive of DDD, said:

"We are pleased to be working with CVision as it prepares to launch its innovative new 3D glasses-free display solutions. The combination of TriDef 3D Mobile and Yabazam creates a very comprehensive content solution to deliver the optimal 3D experience to smartphone and tablet users."

Ted Fang, President of CVision Technology, said:

"This is a partnership between two of the leading 3D mobile technology companies. By combining DDD's TriDef 3D Mobile solutions with C Vision's patented BLP Parallel Barrier 3D displays, 3D devices will be able to achieve an unprecedented level of comfort and performance."
