In 2012, Dr. Yong Zhu and a team at North Carolina State University created highly conductive and elastic conductors made from silver nanowires. At the time, Dr. Zhu said the conductors could be used to create stretchable electronics with applications in wearable, multifunctional sensors. Two years later, the NC State researchers have developed just such a sensor.
They say it can be streatched to 150% of its length, Looks like you can make a decent set of haptic gloves with it.

Cool new tech!

What are the advandates compared to traditional bend/flex sensors?

Personally can't wait for the day when I see my IRL/VR hand/finger movements match! Will be VR2.0.
(for anybody as keen on VR datagloves: Yei (the prioVR guys) have VR dataglove as their post-prioVR project )
