Virtual Rift Museum Space (Senior Thesis Project)

Hi

I am current working on my Senior Thesis Project. We are using the UDK alongside the Oculus Rift to create a virtual museum. We are current putting the finishing touches on vertical slice demo as we are to present to museum in 2 weeks(as of the time of this post). Success is heavily dependent on an extremely varied audience and we only have access to one Oculus Rift Dev Kit Unit. Only having access to only one hardware unit does present some problems as we can't just blast out a build and sent to the students/faculty for feedback so easily. So that is why I am coming to this forum to find feedback, and any show stopping bugs(IE game crashes/locks up, falling through the gameworld, etc). There are only 3 rooms playable one of which is missing textures. The game controller we plan on using for the demo is the Playstaion Move Navigation Controller as its lightweight and you can use it either hand.

There is a missing collusion box on the second floor above the chapter house(the un-texture room) where you can walk though the wall and fall into the room below. That has been fixed and is getting pushed out with the next build (hopefully by the end of the day)

The whole museum is now in, not textured just yet, trigger events are all setup with kismet. It's been a 2 man team effort to get here 1 artist(modeling, texturing), 1(myself) UDK Dev(Unrealscript, kismet, UnrealED)

Lot improvements added over my winter break and in the new semester, it now works with Nvidia 3d Vision and Tridef 3d, and I got the game running on a single 650M with SSAA and MSAA as post in oculus rift at 50-60fps

Also the game will be at pax east as well at the Becker College booth

Looking into if it worth bringing the project over to UE4 or not

The whole museum is fully layout in UE4, just need to get a updated second UV set and I get a build out for pax east

Your work is looking awesome when i have my rift and if you release this is going to be a pleasure to visit your museum, i want a carpet like that would be awesome to have one in my bedroom.

That's a very nice flooring you got there Sp3cia1.
Perhaps, later you can also add some pattern or mural painting at the ceiling so when we look up,
we can appreciate the beauty of the ceiling as well.

Got my DK2 in this week and got the museum up and running fully in DK2, here's a download link, it is a hardware intense demo as head ups. There is ReadMe file include about the controls and what not.
Be sure to the DK2 in extend mode and stop/pause the oculus run time service

Fixed a new issues that pop up me after being demo at the NYC vr meet up

Menu added (esc key extremely buggy state)
and enter reset HMD instead of being on a timer of not being moved
