Tridef - Power 3D - Perspective Jump/Shift- Borlderlands 2

Post by xhonzi »

I'm new to Tridef.

I've been trying it with several things, but the only one I've been "playing" is Borderlands 2. My PC specs are not that great, so I'm using Power 3D instead of 'real 3D'.

I am using the 'dominant eye mode' and I'm outputting SBS, if that matters.

I notice, especially when I run, that one eye will periodically shift. Sort of like it's recalculating the depth. It's incredibly disorienting.

I don't know if this is a Borderlands 2 bug or a Tridef bug. I'm assuming it's only there in Power (Fake) 3D.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I occasionally have some amount of framelag (sometimes very annoying, sometimes almost nonexistent) when using the tridef driver with dual projection. The phenomena you describe seems to be close enough to be related. I'm not really a fan of power-3d due to the limitations when objects come close so i have to make some tests myself if this is more pronounced in power-3d mode.
I haven't found out why the framelag i have is so random in its behavior but maybe you can try altering the settings for ingame vsync and/or refreshrate.

Hmmm.. my first reaction is that it's not frame lag, but the more I think about it- the more I think you could be right. I'll have to think about it more whilst I'm playing and see if that's it.

After playing some more tonight, I don't think it's lag. There was a time or two I was standing still and the depth changed. Very distracting.

Try going into tridef ignition, right clicking borderlands, going to "properties" and setting the profile to generic. Then, run it and open up the tridef OSD, there should be a menu called "profile." tons of settings in there that you can tweak, see if there's anything in there that can fix it.

Duh. That didn't strike me.
And yes, autofocus off is indeed a more pleasant experience than having it on. It's a shortcut to seasickness even if you never get nauseous otherwise. Especially at a tad higher settings.
