TriDef and Rift; should I use HD3D?

I have an R7950, which supports HD3D, but I've come to understand that won't matter with the rift. Will the HD3D version of TriDef work with the rift? It'd be nice to have on the off-chance I ever get a 3d monitor.

Hd3d is amd's implemention of quadbuffering. When using this format, tridef uses the quadbuffering of the ati displaydriver which then send a correct s-3d-signal to a compatible display.
Some examples of hd3d compatible displays.

Since the rift needs a very special format which is not included in amd hd3d (side-by-side+warping) you will need to use the specific rift output in the tridef ignition driver. Be sure to get the latest beta since that's the only version that supports it. There's a link to it at this page.

And both distros of TriDef come with the rift output, correct?

I haven't got the rift yet so i can't tell. By "both distros" you mean both the ignition driver as well as the tridef experience pack right?

Just buy the full version. You will get all the outputs. Then install the beta for Rift support.

Thanks for the feedback. TriDef's paypal cart is broken for me anyway, so I'm in support for that :p

The rift is here...

Yes, the AMD version works with rift. You just have to install the beta version of ignition
on top of the normal installation.

I have it working.
