Will it be a stand alone EXE, or will I have to be using Unity Pro to run it?

That's a lot of views. See screenshot. I don't know how many Rifts have shipped, but that is a lot of views. I am not sure how they count a view. Good to see nonetheless.http://sixense.com/forum/vbulletin/foru ... Discussion

I don't think that page is meant for the general public, here's a reply from Dan @ sixense to someone finding it on the sixense forums:
"Lol @ nickanderson , You are correct sir. Unfortunately the links in that site are not active .

Regarding that, our host doesn't look like they're going to get to adjusting the settings we need till tomorrow. They'll probably get to it early though, and when they do I'll be uploading the build to these forums.

Thanks for your patience everyone."
And that was posted yesterday, so it'll probably be up seomtime early today (US time).

Figures.. Been waiting all week and it comes out while I'm at work.. Lol
Ah well just glad it's finally available !!!

Does anyone know if the rift is required to try out this demo ?

Would it work with the Sony HMZ-T1 + Razer Hydra ?

I don't even have my rift yet and I can say this is a pretty amazing piece of tech. Can't even imagine how natural this must feel when you can freely look around with depth perception. Even on my 2D monitor the controls are precise enough that I can dribble the basketball between hands and bounce things off the wall back to myself. Pretty incredible stuff.

BOW DOWN to Oculus and Sixense.

I try the demo without rift but with my new hydra ( especially buy for my futur rift ;) ) and this is true the hydra take the immersion to another level when you realize that you must use you hydra like real arms.
Can t wait for the rift + hydra combo ( and virtuix omni later 8-) )

Question of slightly embarrassing noob proportions: anyone know how to toggle the invert y-axis on the hydra joystick controller for the Tuscany demo? (Trying to live a little vicarious til my rift arrives.)

Just tried the demo with my HMZ-T1 & Hydra.
Using a gyration air mouse attached to the HMD for mouse look.
3D loads up fine, but demo not recognized by nvidia drivers obviously..
It is SO COOL to see your hands when you lift them in front of your face..
Takes a few minutes to get used to but then starts feeling pretty natural.
Totally changes the way you interact/perceive and think about the game world!
Puzzles in games could really get complicated.. And fun !
Sucked at dribbling the basket ball lol.. But tossing the baseball from hand to hand is amazing..
You almost expect to feel the ball as it passes from hand to hand.
Only weird thing is, the mouse will only let me look left and right not up and down ?
I can look up and down with the right thumb stick on the hydra but its weird..
Okay.. Back to it !!

Got my Hydra yesterday and today my right trigger broke... thank god i managed to repair it :D
The demo wasn't exactly super fun without an HMD, but it was certainly awesome! I can't wait until I get my Rift gets here... when hell freezes over :(

The tech demo is simply amazing! This is what we have been waiting for so many years to come... my dreams are now coming together! Thanks to Sixense for pushing the demo out ASAP as well as the Oculus team! Once again I am blown away with the Rift and Hydra combination!

I'm probably not getting my Rift until June-ish, but after I saw the GDC Rift Hydra Tuscany demo I had to get myself a Hydra. Even without the Rift this demo is simply amazing! I never thought I'd spend so much time throwing a virtual basketball from one hand to the other. The thought of having depth perception with this demo just gives me goosebumps. The first couple times it seemed the position of one hand was higher than it should've been, but after configuring and adjusting the height of my hands to my shoulders I got it perfect. It seems very close to 1:1. And the lag is way better than I was expecting. Turning on the autocrouching is awesome. I can just imagine it feeling almost like perfect vertical position tracking when used with the Rift. This is by far the best demo I've seen to show off just what a Hydra can do. Thanks a bunch for making this available!

P.S. Does anybody know if there's a way to increase the FOV in this demo for those of us that don't have Rifts yet? Right now without head tracking I have to use the right stick almost constantly and (I'm a PC gamer.) aiming with a thumb stick in fps has always felt insanely unnatural to me.

Just tried the demo (with "longest" and "1-to-1") for about 30 minutes, and it completely cements in my mind that the Hydra needs a VR display to not be a gimmick. Very much looking forward to trying it out properly once I get my dev kit.

Also, it seems that vsync is forced on no matter what - even if I force it off in my Catalyst Control Center. That's horrendous, IMO.

You're right. Without the HMD it's really just a gimmick, but with a HMD it really makes all the sense in the world. The next version of Hydra needs to be better build quality and better ergonomics though.

My only issue with the demo is I have to remind myself not to turn my body to turn my direction. Pressing forward and not facing the Hydra base obviously makes you walk in a way you didn't intend.
On a side note, this demo makes me want a Rift/Hydra boxing game.

I'm imagining a Rift/Hydra Chivalry! The game is already amazing just playing on a monitor. If it got working with the Oculus and Hydra I'd probably never leave the house. And when I did leave the house I'd probably have to refrain from dismembering people.

Actually I was goofing around in the demo and noticed you can really throw some punches !! It's amazingly accurate.
I studied martial arts for most of my life, and even doing "kata" (patterns of movement) resulted in extremely fluent and accurate hand translation.
You could almost teach virtual Tai Chi lessons with this thing.

This is definitely the coolest VR demo I've done, a lot more entertaining than the base tuscany demo. I found the middle option for arm movement the most effective. I can't wait to see an actual game take advantage of these mechanics. I'm still not a fan of arbitrary body relative movement vs view relative though, it just feels like I'm driving an invisible segway.
