Ah sorry man! I really wasn't expecting any change so it caught me off guard a bit. Sounds like they're ramping up the delivery rate so yours shouldn't be too far behind hopefully!

DHL Express is fast! My Rift is in the delivery car and I expect to take it home with me today (It will be delivered to my workplace).

Order Status is still processing as it was before I got the delivery notification from dhl-usa.com.

Normally: 19% EUSt + 4% tax for everything above 150€

Edit: Should be around 60€

For guys in Finland who's ordered it: I need to pay the VAT (probably the Finnish 24%, I'll tell you when I get the exact number) and It took me 3 days to get it here (it's already in my home city, should get it later today or tomorrow depending on how long the customs take).

Don't mind having to pay the VAT and awesome fast shipping!

Well whatever the guys at Oculus changed to the delivery process I think it is a great change

My package was send on Friday (from LOS ANGELES) and arived on my doorstep Monday (THE NETHERLANDS at 10 o clock) great work by DHL I guess.

Still at work though so have not seen the package myself yet (only a photo).

My state on the oculus site is still 'Processing - Your order is being processed for shipping'

So got some rifting todo

Now I only wished I had some time the next few days

It changed to processing some weeks ago. Not sure about the exact date but it was after the first kits have been delivered to the US.

UK dev here. I just got my 3 kits today. Incredibly fast delivery.

I backed in August, Order ID: 001158 although it still says "Order Status: Processing - Your order is being processed for shipping". on the "Oculus VR Account Info" these guys must be swamped.

They were shipped on Friday and I received them this morning Thank you Oculus VR!

On the side note, though, it is really unpleasant, seeing people with higher order number (Infinite = 1158) than mine (3dcoffee=311) receive their Rifts sooner than me. And I still have "Processing" and no notice from DHL. :-/

Sorry to hear that. I think some luck does play into it, I think I was just fortunate in this case to get into the 500 unit international shipment. Where are you based?

It is ok, I guess, because I am getting numb to this waiting. I will have it when I will have it. The first 6 months of waiting were the hardest.

I hope, at least, you will not slack and will create some content, so that I have more things to try when mine arrives?

I am from Czech Republic.

I'm in a different position to most developers as I specialize in 3D human scanning (I also have a game development background with creating environments) so I plan to distribute allot of that sort of content. I can't wait to experience the true color 3D and scale of realistic digital doubles in VR. That's my goal this week, I will post some videos soon. I just need to get to grips with UDK and Unity.

BTW I will be visiting the Czech Republic next month, I'm building a full body scanner system there for a client!

Sorry to off topic.

I hope others get their kits as swiftly. Trust me, you will be blown away with the quality of the development kits. First rate.

OMG, I already got it. It too 49 hours from door to door (LA -> Sweden)

And..not customs fee or VAT or anything!

Maybe im lucky, or the big DEVELOPER sign on the packkage helped. Or the fact that there was
no money value stated on the box. The slip/reciept looked very unopened too. So i doubt that
had been opened either. Or mayeb they send a bill later

Anyway, Im exteremly happy with that fast devivery.

Mine arrived too. ~5400 miles in 60 hours with a 28 hour pause for Sunday and no additional fees. Looking forward to opening it up later!

Not a sausage!!

I'm not sure how Oculus VR did it but it was so speedy. No fees at all. I've ordered lots of stuff from the US and Canada before and shipments have always got stuck in customs, only to be release with a huge bill!!

Order 347 arrived for me in London about 4 hours ago (noon). Didn't have to pay any VAT. I got the DHL tracking number on Saturday.

Still can't believe they're shipping them all from the US. I was convinced they would be going out of China for the bulk international orders.

EU orders were supposed to be sent out from the EU fulfilment centre for this batch of 500 for Europe specifically (or at least for Rifts arriving this week). Judging by the very small numbers of arrival threads / comments etc. for the EU, looks like this still might be the case.

Here's hoping for shipping notices incoming in the next couple of days. Otherwise I can't see them meeting that 'On your doorsteps by April 26th' deadline.

That's what I mean. It still feels as if the majority of the 500 we were promised are yet to ship (or at least we don't have notifications of this). My money's still on the bulk of EU orders to be shipped from the EU. OR we're about to be inundated with shipment notices from California.

Did you have to pay anything at the door? I wasn't home and they didn't fill in any costs.

Mine arrived this morning

UK, order 540.

Sadly it was delivered to my family home, while I'm at my house near to university. Won't get to pick it up until the weekend. Older brother is sending me taunting messages about it via Twitter.

I haven't heard anything about customs fees or tax, not sure if that gets sent later or if it's somehow been worked out already. Either way, Friday evening shipping from CA to the UK by Monday morning is outstanding.
