Projectors or Monitors..

Post by The_Nephilim »

Hey All you S3D USers,

I have come to a point where I need to get new either some Monitors or DLP Projectors.. They will be nVidia certfied just wondering on what route I should take..

Now the new DLP Projectors will need bulb replacement at about a 1.5 years I figure so that would be 3 new bulbs at about 500 dollars each 1.5 years added cost to using DLP Projectors..

Now my other alternative is to buy 3 new 27" Monitors which should last years..the cost is a lil higher per monitor but overall cheaper..

Now I like the Big screens I currently have the measure 3 @ 45" each..
Now with Monitors it would be a little bit smaller and would have Bezels, I am not sure after going so long with a Bezelless solution how I would adapt to having bezels..

I was wondering what route I should take. Go with the 27" Monitors or new DLP Projectors?? the cost for my current Bulbs is 171.00 dollars and is getting to be too expensive to maintain these projecors currently..
I am not sure how much the new DLP Projectors bulbs would be I guess I can find out but at least they last almost twice as long as my current bulbs..

I find projectors are awesome for the size, but the picture quality ends up being better on monitors. Currently most 3D projectors will be limited to 720P, while you can get 1080P 3D monitors easily. Also the overall color and quality of a monitor is better, I feel. But, of course, a projector is WAY bigger, so size does matter.

Are new bulbs really $500? You can almost get a new projector for that price.

No New bulbs vary in price the average is about 100 for each one.. I think the way I worded it looked wrong..But the current bulb price for my XR10X-L's are 171.00 I can get a new DLP Projector nVidia 3D Vision certified for 259.00..

But I am trying to keep costs down but at 6000hours the bulb would last near 3 times as long as my current bulbs at 2000 hours..
