[french] 120Hz LCD support in nvidia GT200 graphics chip

Post by BlackShark »

link : http://www.lesnumeriques.com/article-453.html (french)

The french website "lesnumeriques.com" read through the detailled features of the new nvidia GT200 chip (Geforce GTX 260 & 280), they found that it has built-in support for future 120Hz LCD monitors.

The article is very enthusiastic about 120Hz displays since it would allow smoother movement perception in games, lower percieved response times and would allow to have shutter glasses to work with LCD monitors, but the article doesn't features any product using this technology since none uses it at the moment.

(A little strange the make HUGE 120Hz TV's but only 60Hz gaming LCD monitors. But maybe that's going to change.)
