I was afraid my new 3DTV and modern desktop wouldn't play the old Descent games but they work fantastic. I am using Nvidia 3D driver but I assume it works on all modern 3D drivers.

Gog (Good Old Games) has Descent 1 & 2 bundle for only $5.99.:
http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/descent_1_descent_2

Then you need the modern update called DXX-Rebirth (Descent Rebirth 1 & 2) free.
You can install the GOG version, then create a new directory for Rebirth and follow his super simple instructions.
http://www.dxx-rebirth.com/download-dxx-rebirth/

The last piece is a single file, opengl32.dll, in the GLDirect5 package. Place it in the Rebirth main directory:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/gldirect/files/

Now when you bring up the game the modern Nvidia drivers act like its no big deal and just work.
OS: Windows 7
Graphics card: Nvidia GeFoce GTX 275
Nvidia Driver: Its the latest posted.
TV via HDMI cable: 32" Vizio 3DTV with passive glasses

Some of you may have never heard of Descent. Check it out on YouTube.com. It was a first person shooter in 6 degrees of freedom. It was pretty extreme and there is no other game like it. Think of it, for $6 you get two Stereo-3D games and 10 years worth of extra missions for free (You can find extra missions everywhere). You could never play all of them!

That's really tempting! The only game where you could actually get lost in a corner of a room. Have you got a screenshot, by chance?

Decent 2 was old enough that they put the game on the first "track" of the CD. The rest of the tracks were the in-game music. I still have some of those around. (Skinny Puppy, I think?)
