Worked for me too. I guess we will not know when it will ship, until we get a notice that is HAS shipped.
Not sure what all those "Ready status" reports mean, unless Oculus plans to surprise us with news that they have many more Rifts than the 5,000 that was previously announced.

Re: Oculus "Rift" : An open-source HMD for Kickstarter
yeah, I'm guessing it just means you've ticked all the boxes and paid the correct money (eg in my case I had to add $30 for international shipping). Mine says ready! too but I'm 9xxx so probably not ready readyDiorama wrote:My order is 'Ready', but not 'Shipped'.
In this context, what can 'Ready' mean? I am assuming that it simply means that my payment has been received, as I didn't order until the 6th of February and can't imagine that my Rift has even been manufactured yet...
unless they're stockpiling them waiting for a big PR announcement as they go out, wouldn't they just ship them as they get them?
I'd love mine this month, as my wife and kids are abroad visiting the in-laws during Easter, and it'd be good for me to look like an idiot in private first

Maybe I have already received my kit.
I could be wearing it just now and not realizing I am trapped in an artificial virtual reality world.
I see no screen door effect though and I am not feeling dizzy when going from side to side.

So good to get confirmation that my order went through completely. Had minor anxiety about some unknown error occurring, and I would lose my place (ordered on the first day the post-kickstarter pre-orders were available).
Ready means "no issues with your order." That's all it means.

I have literally had this thought too many times already this month...the Rift is even more immersive than I expected, but the still having to pay rent part sucks.Parallaxis wrote:Maybe I have already received my kit.

I won't get a dev kit because I wait for the consumer version, but, still, it's going to be very exciting for you all to get these ORs now and to read about your experiences.

Re: Oculus "Rift" : An open-source HMD for Kickstarter
Ordered 27th September (First day of pre orders I think)
and number 201xx.
Would be interesting to know if these were sequential although 20k from kickstarter doesn't sound right. Perhaps they started the preorders at 20000 although its just wishful thinking.
Perhaps it's a little too early to start pressing f5 every 5 seconds until its says shipped

Re: Oculus "Rift" : An open-source HMD for Kickstarter
I think you may be right about the numbering, because I placed a second order on another Kickstarter account just so I could get the signed shirt and poster. That was done on the last day of the kickstarter campaign, and my order number is around 10,000.baggyg wrote:Ordered 27th September (First day of pre orders I think)

You can try reality checks (see lucid dreams), or else look for a mirror, if you look more handsome than usual, you may be in a VR world (sorry)Parallaxis wrote:Maybe I have already received my kit.

yeah - I also got the dev board v.06.5 and it looks a lot like the final product.maboo63 wrote:@geraldT: u already have the leap?
Today was the first day I started developing with it and while the demos were rather boring (but extremely impressive as far as the tech goes), I already have a LEAP arm coming from using it in Unity.
It is awesome and I am very happy to be able to develop for it.
@Namielus ... you have it too? Will you release something for it? Unity?

We don’t have the official details for accessing the livestream yet, but we’ll be sure to share a direct link with everyone before the panel begins.I sure hope I can download this livestream it and watch it immediately after I get back from my manly duty on this auspicious international holiday. Blowing off something more important than Valentine's Day and Mother's Day COMBINED is not a wise move for those who should know better...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Women%27s_Day wrote:Women's Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women's Day, is marked on March 8 every year. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements. Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended in the culture of many countries, primarily Eastern Europe, Russia, and the former Soviet bloc. In some regions, the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother's Day and Valentine's Day.

GerardT, I havent had much luck yet as I have a shiny plate over my computer that seems to be causing problems.
It seems to prefer tracking fingers spread palm down, and I am curious to how well it can track a fist etc.
If you PM me your skype or something we can compare notes when we get to developing, assuming we are both going to try to get something working for Oculus Rift.

Can't be that - at least if it is, I can confirm positional tracking

Would either of you be interested in telling me what kind of range you're getting with my Leap tool tracking demo?

Either the latest update or the rev0.6.5 device (had a rev 4 device before) seems to have neutered it, making it much less reliable at detecting tools.
By the way, Order number 00811 . Ordered a couple hours after the kickstarter came online.

Haha my order has an error in it. Please use only english character it tells me. But my address contains characters like ö ä ü. Should i just replace those characters with regular english ones?
Anyone have any suggestions or experience.
And i already wrote to oculus support but i think its gonna take some time before they can answer and since my address is not right i see a scary message "please update your address in order to avoid shipping delay"
EDIT: i ordered on august 2 and my order is 3003. In case anyone cares

Just change the special characters to something your national post can understand.
I ususally replace the ä with an a, or the ö with the o. Never had any issues
with the local delivery part to fail understand that.

I'm probably just being paranoid but I selected the update button below shipping address info, I didn't change anything in there mind you, just wanted to make sure they've got all the info they need. You don't think that would cause a delay in shipping do you if it's all the same info even though I selected update?

Order no 0052xx, ordered on 5th August. Bit disappointed with how far I am down the list, I thought I was around 3-4k based on the level of kickstarter funding at the time. Looks like a bit of extra waiting for me!
