Samsung syncmaster sa750

Post by Hector01 »

Hi all. I just purchased the new samsung syncmaster sa750 monitor for my gaming pc. Now i purchased this one cause i have 2 6970s. Now i know hdmi 1.4a will only do 1080p at 24hz per eye in 3d but i was just wondering if anyone knows if you can do the full 1080p at 60 hz in 3d using the dual link dvi cable or display port using tridef or iz3d?? i have been searching on the net and cant really find a solid answer. Now i know its possible with dvi but i wasnt sure if the software could do it yet with ati cards. Thanks.

I think you need to use the DDD driver with that monitor. Dual Link DVI should be supported, and DisplayPort was just added with a recent Catalyst beta driver. I am not sure what mode you would choose. Probably AMD HD3D.

Ok cool thanks for the reply. Yeah it seems that dual dvi only is supported at side by side mode cause it wont work with 120 hz mode and obviously hdmi 1.4a is limited to 1080p 24 hz which is painful in games lol. I will try the display port and see what happens just gotta grab the cable. Just another quick question im pretty sure if i select 720p in game it should revert to 60hz per eye when running with hdmi 1.4a if im correct??? The monitor doesnt seem to display the right information while im gaming so i cant tell. Thanks again.

Yes. If you set the game to 720P, then it should automatically set it to 60Hz in 3D while using DDD drivers over HDMI 1.4a.
