Looking on Amazon I found the Viewsonic PJD5112 for only $350:
http://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-PJD5112 ... B002R0JK0C" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its a 800x600 native 120Hz DLP 3D projector. It has official Nvidia 3D Vision support and supposedly will work with IZ3D as well (upcoming support likely with AMD HD3D only). It has 2,600 lumens, 1.2x optical zoom, +-40 keystone, up to 300" screen size, max input of 1280 x 1024. Did read some reports on Nvidia's forum of people having problems, but you might just have to use specific driver versions or hack it up a little bit (the standard Nvidia rigmarole). Again, I am not sure I want to invest in a projector at the moment (since that would require me to build a new PC for my living room), however $350 is an amazing price to have a 3D home theater. This stuff is getting really accessible now.

you won't throw nor high size screen because of low lumens, and you won't throw high res either. Go for the better customer service (acer).
. It has 2,600 lumens, 1.2x optical zoom, +-40 keystone, up to 300" screen size,
useless useless useless

It's quite valuable in the pricerange and 2600 lumens is certainly not considered low.. ??

Heh, you had that white projector up before, I was going to suggest you go with the like-priced ViewSonic, looks like you saw it, too. :) I have a Viewsonic PJD6221, this is lower res, but should work just as well. I might suggest this to a buddy for Christmas, I will let you know if he gets it for his family.

Using shutters yes. But that's more a limitation of the shuttertechnology (polarizationlosses etc) and as is now you won't get any more lumens out of a decent priced shutterrig anyway. For the price and the compability it's a decent find.

600 lumen + pol. loss + shutter
also digital keystone is bogus
so when we can expect non LC slime shutterglases to pop up

you can count with that huge mitsubishi monstrosity , 5000 lumen cannon in 2d because brilliantcolor

reduced to venerable

1100 lumen in 120hz 3d mode :lol:

&thats further reduced because of polarization loss!!

totally inadequate use of 280W p-vip :lol:

-all thats because white segment is missing in the color generation process.
-we don't have brilliantcolor white yellow process, thats a huge loss right now.
-LEDs can be better than that huge Mits, also laser can back up brightness easily since its already polarized, and huge frequency makes possible use of white insertion.

@tritosine: Well the Acer HD5360, which is the one I believe you own, is only 2500 lumens and many people seem to be happy with that. And the resolution is low, yes, but I think it would certainly be watchable, even at 120" or more. Funny because in other threads you seem to claim that resolution is not important, that people can't see 1080P, etc. Now all of a sudden anything less than HD is "useless"? And, yeah, its digital keystone, but all the low-end projectors use that. Really, it seems to me you are not happy unless you have a professional Sony 4K projector and a RealD z-screen. Unfortunately most of us do not have $20,000 just lying around to build a home theater so we are willing to make some compromises to have a 10 foot 3D screen in our living room for under $500.

5360 = 750 lumen at 120hz !!
2100 lumen normal 2d mode , PR values nowehere true my man,
so thats how much difference a 280w bulb makes, 1100 lumen! 30% ...

right now im consulting about polarization recycling for LED but these polarized LC glasses better be gone soon. Amoled and PDP suffer too.
