Emagin had a dual input addon for the Z800 last year, I can only assume they are now including it as part of the package.

Well its certainly not with the Nvidia driver. Probably IZ3D but in what mode, I don't know. Maybe its the dual input version like Palmer suggested.

1)i have heard somewhere that z800 cannot downscale to 800x600@60Hz...you get black screen...is it so ?wuhlei wrote:its almost 2000$ now and the dual vga version is now 2500$. Do you remember how much the dual vga addon was?
2) Can it upscale from VGA input [from display source] of 640x480@60Hz to 800x600@60Hz to display the image ? has anybody tried that ?
please somebody reply and clarify...

The visor cannot scale any resoloution. It only accepts 800x600 @ 60hz. The reason he is offering the converter boxes is so you can input other resoloutions to the converter box and have the box feed the visor 800x600 @ 60 hz.

the converter box [control box] does not do down-scaling from hiher than 800x600@60Hz you get black screen - this fact i know already...vrekks wrote:The visor cannot scale any resoloution. 1)Now the million dollar question - can the control box accept VGA 640x480@hz to display as 800x600@60Hz on visor...(upscaling to 800x600@60hz) ?
2)another million dollar question - how about VGA (780x480)/(780x576)@50hz - can the control box accept this signal to upscale to VGA 800x600@60hz - what if the input signal [VGA (780x480)/(780x576)@50hz] is pregressive and NOT interlaced ?
this only the z800 user can answer - i guess...

The Asus G50 and G51 can be found very cheaply, one of the best deals for a gaming laptops, in my opinion. I got my G51 for $600 on eBay with one year warranty, refurbished. 4gb RAM, 2.13ghz Core 2 Duo, and a 1gb Nvidia GTX 260M.
