[DIY] MW2 NVG HMD
Hello everyone, I'm pyong and this is my first post here
I built a HMD using a hacked PSP and a MW2 NVG kit.
Here's some pictures
I figured this would be a fun and simple project for anyone looking for a 2d HMD (3d works in side by side, but its blurry)
I suppose you could also use the NVG's for any HMD project using a dedicated screen too.
I plan to add a tracker to it and complete it but I do not know of which would be the best, I've used Wiimotes with motionplus before and they seem to work well.

SBS-3d works partly, the 3d effect works well due to the lenses positioning, but the view is very blurry.

Nice work Pyong! I assume there would be some significant lag introduced by using pspdisp?

There's a little lag but nothing too bad response time is quick enough to play with.

Re: [DIY] MW2 NVG HMD
Thanks I plan to upgrade to a 1280x800 screen soon with DVI input, now I have a few questions.
Whats the best screen to use? is there a 1280x800 4.3'' screen?
also
currently I am using a wiimote nunchuk as a controller with glovepie.
However, I feel like something like the razer hydra may work better, however I do not know how its software works.
Can I program it effectively with motion controls? Can I use it with freepie or glovepie?
thanks.

Re: [DIY] MW2 NVG HMD
Hello everyone, I'm back
I just got the iPhone 4 and after some jailbreaking and some googling I found a copy of an old free software that was removed from the market, I'm not going to tell you where to get it because I don't think that'd be taken too kindly here, but the app is called EveryAir.
Anyways I've upgraded the setup to include a gun that attaches to the Wiimote (for novelty gun firing purposes, doesn't have motion sensing yet)
Uses the same physical setup as before just psp swapped for iPhone.
Was playing Doom 3 BFG Edition and I believe I may even be able to use this in 3d mode if I'm lucky!
Thanks for reading, I'll have pictures soon.

Re: [DIY] MW2 NVG HMD
Hi everyone, I've been working a bit and I've found the best screen for me.
The PS vita
There's a remote desktop app which includes the motion controls for looking, Video from the software developer below.

I've taken this chance and I've applied to the PSM suite site, and when approved I'll be able to test it for myself, but it looks very smooth in the video and quick response.
I've also updated my mounting situation for it to work a lot better.
I'll update again when I have the PSM suite.
