Nice Palmer, placing my order now. Will we have the option to upgrade to higher resolution screens in the future or will a new oculus be needed. At this price it doesn't really matter, just curious. again thanks for the great work. I guess I can finally retire my MRG LOL

update:Order placed. But there is a problem, I forgot I'm moving before it ships and didn't put in the new address, can I change this? I wouldn't want a stranger to have my Rift!

That's great to hear! I was curious about that - if there was a large number of interested people who missed out on the Kickstarter, seems so! I'm wondering though Palmer, do you guys plan on releasing the sales figures anytime in the next few months? With the Kickstarter, we could easily track it just by looking at the number of backers, but now that you're offering pre-orders directly from the site, we have no way of telling how many are selling. I suppose just for curiosity, to see the impact the Rift is having and how quickly interest is picking up (though the deluge of interviews are a good indication)

One of my friends posted on Facebook earlier today about how he put in his pre-order right away for the Rift, and his uncontrollable excitement. Caught me off guard because it's the first time I've seen one of my friends mention it!

Just put my pre-order in. I hope it gets here near the start of January rather than the end, otherwise it will be beyond my reach for a few months.

Just to make something clear: The rift does support two eye viewing. You'll only need one.

Just kidding. Why two? What's the purpose for the other?

Mostly as a backup just in case the first one breaks. Want to be able to take it around a demo to people without fear of someone breaking it. Also, I figure this may be a one-time-deal, limited production run. So there probably won't be replacement units. And who knows, maybe a brand new Rift will be worth something some day.
