Do i really need 3D Glasses!

Post by DaYiM »

Hello,
I have LG Cinema 3D Monitor for my customized PC, this screen uses non chargeable Glasses.
The thing is i just watched my first 3D movie on this screen ( Underworld: Awakening 2012 ),
i noticed a little bit of 3D i didn't feel a lot of pop-out illusion, only some deferences between
the characters and the background <= maybe the problem with the movie because it's Half SBS.
That is not the case, the case is while watching the movie i removed the glasses & didn't feel any
DIFFERENCE and continued watching the movie WITHOUT the glasses!
is the problem with the quality ( Half SBS ) or i really don't need glasses?
PS: with my NVIDIA card came some pictures & a movie, when i played
them they looked SO GREAT with the glasses, and i couldn't watch them
without the glasses! Can someone tell me is it worth it downloading 10+
GB movies if this is the case?

Maybe the video software wasn't configured correctly or wasn't in 3D. Usually you have to be in full-screen mode for 3D to work properly. Also, movies tend to have very weak 3D compared to games, but you should still be able to notice something. I would also try a different video player and see if you get different results.

thanks for your response,
when i was watching the movie i tried Corel WinDVD & CyberLink Power DVD,
both in FullScreen mode and 3D feature enabled, just know i tried something
else like in movie theater a closed the lights & i have noticed improvement in
the 3D playing, BUT still i don't so any diifrence between waring the glasses & NOT!?
right know i am downloading Full SBS movie to see what will change.
One more question: Is there another kinds of 3D movie other than
Half SBS, Full SBS and Anaglyph 3D? Do you suggest other Players?
thanks

You can try the Stereoscopic Player and put into interleaved mode.

Its under "View" -> "Viewing Method" -> "Row-Interlaced".

You can also try the Nvidia 3D Vision mode if you are hooked up on HDMI and have the 3DTV Play software.

Thank you so much,
i played it as you told me & it was amazing,
i even watched the movie a second time!

One more thing please, i tried playing
another half sbs movie ( Tintin ), but
it showed me side by side image!
i tried all the viewing modes, but
nothing worked, and when i played
it again on PowerDVD it played right
but without the real 3D effect again!

Make sure to set the source format. You can do this under "File" -> "Layout" and choose "Side by Side". You may also have to change the aspect ratio by "File" -> "Aspect Ratio" -> "16:9".
