Samsung glasses on Epson 5010 3010 projectors

Post by gustavoya »

Anyone can do this?

Based in this post

The 4 pairs of Samsung 3d glasses (P2100) and the two pairs of NXG rechargeables which I use with my Samsung PN50c490B (plasma) all work with my Epson 3010 projector when the TV and Projector are running simultaneously with the same video signal in the same room. And yes, the Epson glasses work with the Samsung under the same conditions.

This tells me if I could simply get a device which receives an hdmi video input and spits out a Samsung compatible IR emitter signal, I'd be good to go with both types of glasses. The 3010 has an external output but it's not VESA.

Wish I was a video engineer.

I made some research and I come across this paper with research on 3D IR protocols, since the 3D glasses from samsung are really cheap($15 a pair) many people, like me could benefit if someone with electronic knowledge could make a device to change the protocol from Epson to Samsung. I'm attaching the link to the paper and the two extracts of the protocols.
