The new release of DVDFab now does 2d to 3D movie conversions.
I cannot tell you if it works well or not.

It supports side-by-side, and over-under formats. Anaglyph is being added later.

unless they have a small box with 100+ personnel manually converting every frame then I doubt it's any good

I'm sure its garbage, just like all the other attempts at automatic conversion. Even expensive hollywood movies with huge teams of artists can barely do a decent job. So I wouldn't get my hopes up.
